Asbestos still kills, it is still a problem. However many of the younger generation of construction workers don’t consider it, they see it as a problem of the past. Asbestos was still used in construction as late as 2001.
To speak to a new generation we used a visual language they would appreciate, that of the Horror film. Using iconography similar to that of the Saw films we showed that the true horror lurking in building sites is asbestos – the hidden killer.
The film was shot on an abandoned RAF base and used atmosphere and art direction to great effect. Most importantly it included simple tips for staying safe.
